Urban Greenspace Project

The Urban Greenspace Project provides opportunities for Tauranga people of all ages, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds to come together to adopt their park or reserve for ecological restoration. It can involve removal of weeds and planting of native trees and shrubs to attract bird life.
The Environment Centre is currently looking to secure funding or sponsorship to provide coordination and administrative support to these Urban Greenspace groups. Until then, contact Tauranga City Council, Western BOP District Council, or Bay of Plenty Regional Council to find out how you can get involved in your suburb.
